Professor McGonagall strongly encouraged that I should apologize for my commentary at the matches after Enid got knocked from her broom. Obviously it was wrong to call Ted a thick-headed flobberworm herder who wouldn't know what to do with a bludger if it flew out his arse, and I've apologized to him personally already, but I figured McG is always right and so I should do it here as well. Ted, mate, sorry again.

Other than that, calling the plays was brilliant, and Famish MacFarlan was incredibly nice. He even told me that my creative use of imagery when describing the tension on the field after Caradoc was carted off was one of the most entertaining things he'd heard in a long time.

Typically I do Ask Frank on Monday morning, but I think I should hold off on giving advice until I've made my rounds and apologized to anyone I referred to as "The scum of the sky" or anything equally offensive. I still maintain that in a few cases, I was only calling things as I saw them, but I suppose the truth isn't always meant to be shouted over a loud speaker.

Warded Private to Fabian: No hard feelings about the calls? I realize I was a bit hard on your beaters, but its not as if it affected the outcome, and I really am glad you won.

Private to Alice [Sep 24, 2007 * 12:30am]
Do you think if you get a spare minute you could come down to the common room? I'm helping Lizzie with her potions work, but I had something I wanted to ask you. If you're busy I could just do it over the journal... s'up to you.

Hey all. I'm at my conferences and I really thought I'd be able to get on and such but my laop top has DIED. Currently I'm in the business center. I've got no clue if I"ll be able to talk much until I get back on Sunday so for now I'm on a semi-hiatus with HIGH hopes of something working out for me! Lots of love!!! Chels and Liz, I don't have time to crosspost, can you let the other RPs know? I feel like I'm going to DIIIIIIIIIIIIE!

Respect [Sep 13, 2007 * 4:30pm]
Respect is a funny thing. It can take years to earn and only a minute to lose.

When you respect yourself you don’t let the opinions or pressures of others deter you from the goals that you set for yourself or change the way you see yourself. You know that you can trust that what you’ve been taught by your professors and your teachers is enough to help you make good decisions. When you have self-respect you don’t apologize for every move you make and you have confidence in yourself.

Respecting others is an entirely different business. There are some people who deserve your respect because of their position. That can be parents, teachers or fellow students who are in positions of power. Even if you don’t always agree with them it is important that you respect them anyway.

There are other people who you don’t have to respect but whom you respect anyway. For me, one of the most obvious examples is my sister Enid. She’s younger than me, and she’s never been in charge of me but I have loads of respect for her because she is her own person and she doesn’t always do what’s expected of her but you can always know that she’d be their for you when it counts. It’s the same way with my friends. Lots of them aren’t in authority over me but I respect them because they’ve got good qualities that I find respectable.

But lastly, and sort of more confusingly, everyone deserves a measure of respect just for being alive. It doesn’t matter what house they’re in, or if they’re muggle or magical, or even if they hexed you once in second year you have to respect them because if you don’t, society would never manage to hold itself together. Respect is what makes the world safe to live in, and when people start forgetting that, we’re going to lose more than just respect in general, we’ll lose all what we are as well.
